GENERALThe General Contractor shall verify all dimensions and site conditions before starting work.The Structural Engineer and Architect (hereafter referred to as "Design Team") shall be notified of anydiscrepancy. Use details marked "Typical" wherever applicable.Changes, omissions or substitutions are not permitted without written approval of the Design Team.Refer to specifications for further requirements. In the case of conflicts between plans and specifications, the morerestrictive requirements shall apply. Any discrepancies on the Contract Documents should be brought to theattention of the Architect and Structural Engineer prior to proceeding with the work.All materials and workmanship shall conform to the 2018 edition of the International Building Code (IBC) and the2016 edition of “Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures” by the American Society of CivilEngineers. Use the latest edition of Referenced Standards as noted in Chapter 35 of the IBC.The Contract structural drawings represent the finished structure. The Contractor is responsible for the means,methods and sequence of construction. Placing of reinforcementshall conform to ACI 315R “Manual of Engineering and Placing Drawings for Reinforced Concrete Structures” and CRSI “Manual of Standard Practice”. Reinforcement bars shall not be tack welded, heated, or cut unlessspecifically detailed on the drawings or as approved by the Structural Engineer. The welding of reinforcing steel,metal inserts and connections in reinforced concrete shall conform to AWS D1.4 “Structural Welding Code -Reinforcing Steel” by AWS/WABO certified welders using E9018 or approved electrodes.
