Dear Mayor Lewis and Council Members,
I strongly oppose the proposed Duplex Code Ordinance amending Title 4 of the Moscow City
Code. Moscow has a housing shortage and this ordinance will make it worse by increasing
construction costs without reducing demand. The result will be higher rents, higher home prices,
and more renters pushed into unsafe arrangements, especially students and low-income
families. Please vote NO.
I have young adult children who desire to become homeowners here, but more regulation and
higher costs will continue to push this dream out of their reach. I urge you to consider the many
people in this situation and vote NO on this matter.
Sincerely,
Heather Trauger
